Miracle

So happy, relieved and grateful to report that neither my parents' nor my grandparents' house was affected in the flood that has devastated so many. I really don't know how they were spared, but they were.

Thank you for all your prayers, positive energy, and thoughts.

THEY WORKED!

My parents' business is still under water, but thankfully they had enough time to take all their assets to higher ground. The rest will be grunt work. Muddy and messy, but they are so lucky, nonetheless.

It will take months, years to rebuild our city but the people of Queensland are banding together and are up for the challenge.

I am yet to come up with a way I can personally help. There are so many. Donations of nappies, baby wipes, food, money to the evacuation centres that have been set up around the city. Baked goods, heat-and-eat meals. Offers of babysitting for those who will need to focus their energies on cleaning up their homes. These are all in my sights. Papadada is gearing up for some volunteer clean-up work too. This morning he bought a giant high-pressure gurney - excellent idea. He's a man with a plan, that one...

So happy that everyone is ok! I will pray for your family and those in need. Very sad. I hope that things are able to get cleaned up and back to normal soon.
